- Your own blood can be collected during, and for a period, after the operation
- Harmful fat and other impurities are filtered out
- Beneficial blood components including clotting agents and plasma proteins are retained unlike in donor blood
- This Whole Blood can then be given back reducing your patient's need for donor blood in many cases avoiding the need altogether
